Data Talks: How does a socio-economic impact assessment help us uncover actionable data for COVID response?
Understanding what the data tells us about the economic impact of COVID-19 on households and businesses now can help inform policy decisions for the future.
By September 2020, over 70,000 people in Nepal had been affected by COVID-19. Today, that number is upwards of 735,000+. Many studies and assessments have been conducted to get a clear view of the situation, including a Socio-economic Impact Assessment (SEIA), supported by UNDP’s SURGE Data Hub.
In this webinar:
- What kind of data was the Country Office looking for that wasn’t already available?
- What did the assessment uncover about the impacts of COVID-19 on vulnerable groups and what key recommendations were proposed to the government after this assessment?
- What are some of the lessons learned by working remotely on this assessment?
“Big thanks to SURGE Data Hub team because you made remote working much much much easier. We literally conducted the assessment digitally throughout and between different nations…we were in constant communication with the SURGE Data Hub team, which really made the coordination and communication effective.”
